Grief is a very normal response; in fact, estimates indicate that more than 135,000 people in the Greater Cincinnati area are affected by grief each year.

Now there is a place that can help both children and adults to work through their grief and move on with their lives.

The Goldstein Family Hospice of Cincinnati and Fernside Grief Center
As the only non-profit hospice organization in greater Cincinnati, Hospice of Cincinnati, in partnership with its affiliate Fernside - A Center for Grieving Children, is committed to providing the highest quality and most comprehensive grief services to our community.

The Goldstein Family Hospice of Cincinnati and Fernside Grief Center is the first comprehensive bereavement center in Greater Cincinnati focusing on both adult and children’s grief. Services are free and available to all, regardless of whether their loved one was cared for by Hospice of Cincinnati.

GRIEF SUPPORT SERVICES

Fernside - Supporting Children and Families Through Grief - An Affiliate of Hospice of Cincinnati
  • Grief support groups for spouses, adult children, and other adults who have experienced a significant loss.
  • Grief support groups for children, teens, parents and grandparents who have experienced a significant loss.
  • Individual and family grief counseling. Counselors can offer referrals to other community resources if desired
  • School program to provide on-site grief support for grieving students.
  • Children's one-on-one grief counseling.
  • Phone consultations to help professionals, parents/guardians and other community members who have grief-related questions or concerns.
  • Memorial services to celebrate the lives of loved ones.
  • Crisis response providing immediate and long-term support to schools and other organizations
  • Special interest seminars, such as tips on facing the holidays without a loved one.
  • Camp Programs including an overnight summer camp for children ages 7 to 12 and a weekend retreat for teens 13 to 18 years old.
